How Much Are Marriott Points Worth?
According to The Points Guy’s monthly valuations, Marriott points are worth about .9 cents per point. That means this bonus is worth roughly $900. Once you add in the 7,500 points from adding an authorized user and the 5,000 points from the required spend, you will have 112,500 points that are worth about $1,013. Not bad from one credit card sign up!

What Can You Do With 100,000 Marriott Rewards Points?
This is a category 3 hotel that costs 15,000 points per night. This one credit card bonus will get you 7 nights in this tropical paradise! This property features a restaurant, bar, free wi-fi and outdoor pool. In April 2017, a brand new diving center will be opening, making this a great choice for a scuba diving trip.
This is a category 9 requiring 45,000 points per night. This credit card bonus will give you 2 free nights at this luxury property on the Big Island of Hawaii. Rooms at this hotel start at $432 per night so this would be a great way use your points to splurge on a few nights of luxury
If Europe is more your style, you can stay 3 nights at the Courtyard Edinburgh in Scotland with the points from your bonus. This is a category 7 property requiring 35,000 points per night.
Transfer to Starwood Preferred Guest
Last year, Marriott acquired Starwood Hotels so now you can freely transfer your points between the 2 brands. The transfer rate for Marriott to Starwood is 3:1, meaning you will get 1 Starwood point for every 3 Marriott points you transfer. Starwood points are worth close to 2.5 cents per point so the transfer isn’t as lopsided as it seems at first glance.
This SPG property in New Orleans costs 10,000 Starwood points per night. So, if you transfer 90,000 of your Marriott points to Starwood, you will have 30,00 SPG points which is enough for 3 nights at this property
This hotel in Thailand costs only 7,000 SPG points per night. Your 112,500 Marriott points will transfer to 37,5000 SPG points which is enough for 5 nights in Bangkok!
*While this is a great sign up bonus that will net you a lot of points, I don’t recommend using the Marriott Rewards credit card for your everyday spend after you earn the bonus. I explain why in my recent post, Which Credit Card Is Best For Earning Marriott Points.
