Miles & Points Monday

Welcome to the next installment of Miles & Points Monday – your SIMPLE weekly breakdown of what you need to know in the miles and points world!

Delta and Airbnb Limited Time Offer

Airbnb limited time offer

Delta and Airbnb have a partnership where you can earn Delta Skymiles for all of your Airbnb stays.  Start your booking on  www.deltaairbnb.com to earn your Skymiles.  For all stays booked by April 30, 2017 and completed by April 30, 2018, you can earn bonus miles!

  • Earn 3 miles per dollar spent on all qualifying Airbnb stays worldwide (instead of 1 mile per dollar)
  • New Airbnb guests can earn 2,000 bonus miles after your first stay of at least $150 (instead of 1,000)

Possible Higher Bonus for Chase Ink Preferred

Via Doctor of Credit, there are rumors of a higher 100,000 point sign up bonus coming for the Chase Ink Preferred card!  The current sign up bonus is 80,000 Ultimate Rewards Points – but 100,000 is even better!  If you are planning on getting this card in the near future, I would suggest to wait it out for a while for the extra 20,000 points.  Unfortunately, this card is subject to the Chase 5/24 rule so for a lot of us (me included) this card is off the table right now.  (sigh…)

Yet Another Hilton Honors Promotion

Hilton Honors has been in the media a lot lately with their recent loyalty program updates and 2K Everyday promotion.  Via MommyPoints, there is another way to earn bonus points with Hilton this year.  Earn 500 bonus points for each completed stay between now and Dec 31, 2017 when you book with the Hilton App.  You need to register for this promotion and book through the mobile app to earn the bonus points.

Marriott and SPG Announce Hotel Category Changes

Every year hotels re-evaluate their hotels’ award categories and make adjustments.  Unfortunately, most of the time the changes involve higher categories and therefore higher point costs!  This year is no different.  All changes go into effect on March 7, 2017 so be sure to book before then if you want to take advantage of the current pricing.  Here are the full lists of hotel category changes:

Marriott Rewards 2017 Hotel Category Changes

Starwood Preferred Guest 2017 Hotel Category Changes

Phoenix Renaissance Downtown category change
The Phoenix Renaissance Downtown was a great value at category 5. Starting March 7, 2017 it will be a category 6.

Until next time, Happy Travels!
