Laser Hair Removal At The Body Bar MedSpa

The Body Bar MedSpa is conveniently located in Marysville, Ohio, and has plenty of parking right outside the door. Making my appointment was easy and I was offered the choice of a male or female practitioner to perform my treatments.

At my first appointment, I was greeted by Hema, who owns the spa with her husband, Dr. Amit Patel. After getting settled in the treatment room, Dr. Patel took the time to explain how the process works, and he adjusted the laser to my specific hair and skin type.

The treatment started with some blasts of very cold air to slightly numb and cool down the skin. During my first treatment, Dr. Patel re-adjusted the laser as needed based on how my skin and hair were reacting. I could feel something but I wouldn’t describe it as pain. It was more like a light pinching and was very tolerable. I had very little redness or irritation afterward, which is great considering I have very light and sensitive skin.

The treatment was quick and I felt very comfortable throughout the whole process. Afterward, I had a very minor amount of irritation intermittently for the rest of the day, but it only happened after the first treatment.

After my first appointment, I noticed my hair was coming in much slower than usual, which is expected. I was surprised to see a difference so quickly!

A: The amount of pain you may feel with laser hair removal varies by person and area. I didn’t experience much pain at all, just slight discomfort which was over very quickly.

Q: Is laser hair removal appropriate for all skin types?

A: The Body Bar MedSpa uses the SPLENDOR X laser which can be used on all skin types and most hair colors. Unfortunately, the laser won’t work on gray hair.
