Costa Rica Marriott Hotel Hacienda Belen Review

I was so impressed with my stay at the Costa Rica Marriott Hotel Hacienda Belen! This place is a great mix of hotel and resort with a fantastic, central location and some great amenities.  It’s the perfect place to base yourself during a trip to Costa Rica.

This hotel is conveniently located about 10 minutes from the airport. It’s popular among business travelers and those flying into San Jose for a night or two. It’s also close enough to many popular Costa Rica attractions that you can fill your time with day trips to see lots of what Costa Rica has to offer.

The staff at the Costa Rica Marriott San Jose was just great. Thankfully, a majority of them spoke English (since I am a lazy American tourist who can’t seem to grasp Spanish). They were all so friendly there to help if you needed anything.

This place has a charming old-world feel to it. The hotel is nestled on a coffee plantation with beautiful mountain views.  There’s plenty of seating around the 2 pools including a couple of daybeds (perfect for enjoying the day reading a book). I enjoyed the walking path on the property that passed through lush greenery and the putting green and driving range.

The Executive Lounge at The Costa Rica Marriott

This is hands down the best executive lounge I have ever been in. Since this hotel is not categorized as a resort, Marriott Gold and Platinum Elite Members have access to the lounge for breakfast, snacks, and dinner.  Yep, they serve dinner too. So that meant we had free breakfast and dinner every night of our stay!  Score!!

The staff in the executive lounge was wonderful.  They were courteous and helpful.  We loved talking to Sol at dinnertime — she was an absolute gem!

**Unfortunately, this hotel is now labeled as a resort, so access to the lounge may be stricter**
