Is This A Good Deal?
I see this as a generally good offer however it’s not for everyone. If you are just getting started collecting miles and points, I would not recommend this card. Start with flexible points like Chase Ultimate Rewards points. If you rarely stay at Hilton properties, then obviously this wouldn’t be a good choice either.
Hilton Honors points are generally valued at about .5 cents per point, so this bonus is worth roughly $500. I find that Hilton points can be harder to use than other hotel points because they don’t have a standard award chart. The points cost for a room can be all over the place so it takes a little more time to seek out the good deals.

What Can You Do With 100,000 Hilton Points?
2 Nights at the Hilton Waikoloa Village Resort on the Big Island of Hawaii
I found lots of availability at this resort on the Big Island of Hawaii for 50,000 points per night. Standard rooms here are $259 per night, giving you $518 value from this sign up bonus.
3 Nights at the Embassy Suites by Hilton Deerfield Beach Resort & Spa
You can book a suite at this Florida resort for 34,000 points per night. (The total would be 102,000 but you would have the extra 2,000 points from the spend you put on the card.) These rooms usually cost $169 per night giving you a $507 value. This also includes breakfast making this a great choice for families!
The Final Word
This is a good offer for the Hilton Honors Surpass card, but I wouldn’t start with this card if you have never collected points and miles (unless, for some reason you are a die hard Hilton fan). The other benefit of this card besides the points is the Hilton Honors Gold status. This is a great mid tier status to have because it will get you lounge access and free breakfast (at non resort properties). That can be a huge money saver especially if you are traveling with a large group.
