60,000 American Airlines Miles With One Purchase…What’s The Catch?

There really isn’t a catch.  This is a great deal for the right person.  Here is what I would keep in mind when thinking about the AAdvantage Aviator Red World Elite Mastercard.

  • There is a $95 annual fee that must be paid to receive the bonus.  So, in essence, you are purchasing 60,000 American Miles for $95 – this is a killer deal!
  • If you are brand new to travel hacking and want to get a lot of cards, I don’t think I would recommend this one.  This will count against your Chase 5/24 which means if you have 5 applications in the previous 2 years you won’t be approved for most Chase credit cards.  Chase offers some of the best cards out there, and I generally recommend  getting those first.
  • This is a great card for someone who doesn’t spend enough to meet the minimum spend requirements on other cards.
  • If you are an experienced travel hacker who already has all of the popular cards and needs to move on to some of the more obscure ones, this is a good option.
  • If you live near an American hub or fly American a lot, this would be a good card to pick up.
  • This is a great card for someone who doesn’t want to get into the travel hacking game but could use 60,000 American miles.

All in all, this is going to be a great deal for most people – I mean, 60,000 American Airlines miles with one purchase?  Yes, please!  Let me know if you decide to get this one.  Where will your miles take you?

    Super helpful! In need
To do some research to see what 60,000 would you get you as far as airfare.
