Visiting The Desert Botanical Garden

The Desert Botanical Garden in Phoenix is a cactus lover’s dream!  As I discovered on a recent trip to Arizona, I totally love cactus! I am obsessed with the different varieties, sizes, and styles of these desert sculptures. I really loved being able to get a close up view of them plus plenty of other desert vegetation at the Desert Botanical Garden.

The Garden is located within Papago Park so it’s convenient to do some hiking on the same day.

The Desert Botanical Gardens cover over 140 acres of land and boast one of the most unique collections of desert plant life in the world.  Upon entering you will be greeted by the gorgeous Chihuly sculptures that are integrated into the entrance gardens.

I’m generally not super into botanical gardens — they are pretty to look at but I tend to find them rather boring.  This one was different, though.  Maybe because it was all outside, or maybe because I have become slightly obsessed with cactus…I don’t know.  If you are in the Phoenix/Scottsdale area I would highly recommend a visit.  It’s a nice place to spend a couple of hours.  Happy Travels.
